While I was on leave from my job after a minor traffic accident, I decided to make some curtains and use some forks in their design. As I looked at the forks I bent, I decided that they looked like little people. So, with a little wire and a little more bending, Mr. and Mrs. Fork were born. But, they still needed a little something, so I began painting them. Then one day Forkin' Floozie was born. She was the first forker with a personality. She was an exotic dancer. The Forkers began to develop personalities.Forkin' Floozie was the first fully developed character. She was an exotic dancer. These are some more of my little forkers. I called this shadow box "Bug Light."But I just wasn't sure what to do with my little friends. So, I decided to create cards.
There are stories behind most things in life and here is the story of how my Little Forkers came to be.  I did not set out one day with the thought that I wanted to create a card line or a cartoon character or anything like that.    My Little Forkers just happened.  I worked as a nurse for 12 years.  In 2006 I had a  minor traffic accident that gave me some time off from work to recuperate.   I have never been the type to  "sit around."  So,  I   decided to make some curtains with forks in the design.    One day,  I was just looking at them and thought how the forks reminded me of little people and just decided to go with it. I started painting them and well, before I knew it, the "Little Forkers" were born.   What have I learned from this experience?  It is to look for the gift in anything.  I hope that you enjoy my Little Forkers and remember to "let someone know you give a fork."
